Titans at Packers live stream: TV schedule, time and more
The Green Bay Packers and the Tennessee Titans kickoff their slate of preseason games tonight at Lambeau Field.
This meeting between the Packers and Titans is their 12th preseason matchup, with Tennessee holding an 8-3 advantage. The last time the Titans played in Lambeau for an exhibition game was 2008.
Last season, the Packers finished below .500 and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2008. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers missed a majority of the season with a broken collarbone and the team was unable to rebound.
On the contrary, the Titans finished above .500 for the second consecutive season and made the playoffs for the first time since 2008. Tennessee defeated the Kansas City Chiefs, 22-21, in the Wild Card game, but lost to the New England Patriots, 35-14, in the Divisional round.
Despite the team’s recent success, they decided to part ways with head coach Mike Mularkey. Under Mularkey’s reign, the Titans overall record was 21-22. The Titans hired former Houston Texans defensive coordinator Mike Vrabel. Prior to coaching, Vrabel played 14 years in the NFL, most notably with the Pittsburg Steelers and New England Patriots.
Rodgers had some strong words for his young wide receiver core and there will be a ton of attention on this unit for the entire preseason. Outside of Davante Adams and Randall Cobb, there is a ton of uncertainty surrounding this unit. Green Bay drafted three wide receivers at the 2018 NFL Draft, and all three will be battling for playing time.
The wide receiver unit is not the only concern on offense. Green Bay saw how challenging it was to play without Rodgers, this preseason they need to find a reliable back-up option. Can Brett Hundley regain the trust from his teammates and coaches, or will DeShone Kizer emerge as a better option. Undrafted free agent quarterback Tim Boyle will also have an opportunity to compete for the role.
Defensively, this will be the first time seeing the Packers play under new defensive coordinator Mike Pettine. The Packers replaced Dom Capers with Pettine this offseason after the defense struggled immensely.
Green Bay’s secondary was their Achilles heel and they addressed it by adding two rookies (Jaire Alexander & Josh Jackson) and two veterans (Tramon Williams & Davon House). The Packers already lost inside linebacker Jake Ryan for the year with a torn ACL and if the unit struggles, they may need to add a veteran.
Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota struggled last season and has been working this offseason on improving his accuracy. The Titans offense is young, but has a ton of potential. This units success lies in the hands of Mariota.
On the other side of the ball, the Titans should have another successful year. Last year, Tennessee ranked 13th in the league in yards allowed. Despite losing safety Johnathan Cyprien with a torn ACL, they replaced him with former Saint Kenny Vaccaro. In addition, they added linebacker Rashaan Evans and defensive end Harold Landry via the NFL Draft. With Vrabel having control, the defense should take a step forward.

It’s highly unlikely that many starters will play a significant amount of time, but this is a great opportunity for those competing for a roster spot.
