2. Leicester hold Manchester United in 2-2 draw

The very first game of the new Premier League season sees Leicester travel to Old Trafford to face off against Manchester United in what should be an entertaining match. The past five matches between the two sides have produced 17 goals and we’re hoping for more of the same.

Manchester United had a strange season last year. They finished second, but the quality of some of their play, coupled with an early exit in the Champions League, left many of their fans disappointed. That was made even worse by the fact their city neighbors won the title so convincingly.

Jose Mourinho has long been a master tactician who thrives on the gritty side of soccer rather than the more expressive and free-flowing side. That’s not a problem if your team in winning trophies, but last season United finished with nothing in the cabinet. That’s something that needs to change if Mourinho wants to keep his job at Old Trafford.

Leicester also had a strange 2017-18 season, flirting with the relegation zone early on before firing Craig Shakespeare. Under the guidance of Claude Puel, the Foxes improved, and look like a well organized side.

Winning at Old Trafford is a big ask but Leicester can certainly cause United problems even without Riyad Mahrez, who finally got his big-money move to Manchester City. Leicester’s biggest summer signing was Norwich’s James Maddison.

Maddison is a crafty player and a dead-ball specialist so United will have to be sure not give any free-kicks away around the penalty area. Expect a tight game with it finishing all square at 2-2.
