Andre Iguodala says that Stephen Curry is the Warriors’ true GM, and would love to be on his good side when it’s time to re-up.

Andre Iguodala would love to be on Stephen Curry’s good side, especially when his contract comes up in two years.

Iguodala probably isn’t the only one on the Golden State Warriors who are trying their best to stay in Curry’s good graces. That’s because, in an interview with TNT, Iguodala went on the record saying that, when it comes to personnel decisions, Curry is usually very involved in the negotiations.

In fact, he’s practically the true GM of the team.

Now, it could be that Iguodala was joking, but is he, though? Even though Curry and Kevin Durant are two Hall of Famers, there is no doubt within the Warriors organization who runs the show.

That’s how the NBA works. The superstar, the face of the franchise, usually have sway over who comes, who stays, and who leaves a team. For years, the Chicago Bulls front office didn’t make a move without Michael Jordan’s approval, and just last year, the Cleveland Cavaliers re-made their roster at the trade deadline, probably because LeBron James voiced his disapproval of the then-current roster.

Curry is in that same situation, though Draymond Green would say otherwise. Green is thought of as Golden State’s number one recruiter. Heck, it was Green who convinced DeMarcus Cousins, one of, if not the top big man in the game, to take a significant pay cut to chase after a ring.

Next. Lindsay Whalen to retire at season's end. dark

Make no mistake, though, that even though Green recruits the player, it’s usually Curry who has the final say, which is one of the best perks about being a supermax player in the NBA.

So, yes, Curry probably is the “real” GM in the Bay Area, and nobody should dare question it.
