After a number of eye-catching performances and moments in Week 1 of the preseason by the rookies, it’s time to take another look at their fantasy football values.

In this slideshow, we’re going to look at five rookies that stood out in Week 1 for one reason or another and take a closer look at their fantasy value with drafts and the NFL regular season coming up.

With these players, it’s important to know how they’re doing and how they’ll impact your squad.

Sometimes, rookies can be overhyped and overdraft. You don’t want to be one of those guys.

Here, we’ll look at the players, a quick glance at their Week 1 performance, their ADP and judge their value accordingly.

Let’s begin with a Buffalo Bills quarterback.

5. Josh Allen, QB, Buffalo Bills

ADPUndrafted (12-team leagues)

Overall, Bills quarterback Josh Allen had a fine showing in his Week 1 debut against the Carolina Panthers.

There were definitely moments of a breakdown in communication and some errant throws, but we also saw what makes Allen shine: That gargantuan arm of his.

One of his first career NFL passes was a bomb down the sideline. If it was just a bit more straightened out, the receiver would have definitely taken it to the house for a touchdown.

In the game, Allen had nine completions on 19 throws and one of them was—no joke—one of the best touchdown passes I think I’ve ever witnessed.

Not embellishing, either. Only a guy with Allen’s arm capabilities could pull off a throw like this. Ray-Ray McCloud was on the receiving end of it.

You can just see how much velocity is on the ball and the pinpoint accuracy to hit him while he’s on the ground, too.

Right now, the Bills currently sport Allen and A.J. McCarron at the quarterback position. McCarron is what he is, but Allen has a ton of upside. Going undrafted, Allen is a fairly risky fantasy option still even with the upside and potential he has.

His situation is way too up in the air for the time being, so he should remain undrafted until we hear more solidified news on the Bills quarterback situation.

However, if Allen becomes the starter, he could prove to be a streaming option at the very worst.
