No. 6 – Philip Rivers, Los Angeles Chargers

Philip Rivers is a deceiving talent. Although the Chargers have struggled in the past two seasons, Rivers has been a top passer in the NFL. Just take a look at Rivers’ passing statistics over the years. The last time that Rivers was not in the top five in passing yards was 2014. That being said, it may be more difficult for him this season to produce the same numbers.

Early into OTAs, starting tight end, Hunter Henry went down with a knee injury that will sideline him for the entirety of the 2018 season. The Chargers were expecting Henry to be a big part of the offense this season. Rivers will likely depend heavily on Keenan Allen, who was exceptional last season, to move the ball downfield.

The Chargers are also hopeful that Mike Williams will be a big part of the Chargers offense. Williams was drafted seventh overall in the 2017 NFL Draft. History shows Rivers dominance in the passing game and is not expected to have any huge regressions this year. With Rivers at the helm, look for big things from the Chargers offense in 2018.

No. 5 – Kirk Cousins, Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings made a huge free agency splash when they signed Kirk Cousins to a three-year deal this offseason. The Vikings also decided to part ways with quarterbacks Teddy Bridgewater, Sam Bradford, and Case Keenum. While it may seem crazy that Cousins is so high on this list, look at the success that Keenum had under Mike Zimmer’s coaching and this receiving corp. Keenum produced 22 touchdowns in 15 games with only seven interceptions.

Cousins is a far superior player to Keenum. Cousins has never had a great arsenal of offensive weapons around him. Now, with the Vikings, he does. In addition to the great wide receiver duo of Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs, Cousins will also be throwing to Kyle Rudolph and Kendall Wright, who are both good pass catchers. It seems as though everything is set up perfectly for Cousins to have a dominant first season with the Vikings. Expect him to be a fantasy football surprise for the 2018 season.
