LeBron James

The newly-crowned King of Los Angeles is in a category all his own. That’s because there are many different LeBron jerseys to choose from and each one can reveal something different about its wearer.

Cleveland Cavaliers (2003-2010): Wearing a LeBron jersey from this era, in 2018, lets the world know that you are fiercely loyal and willing to give second chances. It tells any potential wrongdoers that you’re willing to forgive them and patch things up if they just reach out and ask you. It also tells people you cling to the past. You probably have a memory box dedicated to every one your exes filled with trinkets from past relationships. You long for a time that has passed you by. You remember the good times and try to forget the bad. Can it be that it was all so simple then?

Miami Heat: Picture the type of fan that jumped on the Heatles bandwagon when the super-team formed in the summer of 2010. A smug sports atheist happy to jump ship to get behind a team that’s supposed to win, so they can gloat about their team being the best. Now imagine that guy still wearing his support of that team in 2018, right after LeBron left Cleveland for the second time. They’re telling the world that they’re a troll. They’re sh*t-starters. They’re probably behind the curtain of quite a few different egg avatars on Twitter. Don’t trust anyone wearing Miami No. 6 in 2018.

Cleveland Cavaliers (2014-2017): Wearing this jersey simply lets the world know that you really enjoyed the last few years of your life as a basketball fan and that you don’t blame or hate LeBron James for his decision to move to Los Angeles. You’re probably very supportive, the type of person who can actually stay friends with someone after breaking up with them. Either that, or it says that you don’t really pay much attention to basketball, you wanted to buy a jersey and LeBron James is the one basketball player you’ve actually heard of.

Cleveland Cavaliers (2017-18) – You’re just waiting for the dust to finally settle on the offseason before you take advantage of the NBA’s jersey insurance program.

Los Angeles Lakers: You’re thrifty (and you don’t mind bootleg jerseys). You’re “trendy” but not in a good way, in the way that you try too hard to always look cool. Or…you found a clever way to circumvent the rules at the NBA Store’s custom jersey shop.
