Gone is Baker Mayfield, but Lincoln Riley and the Oklahoma Sooners may just have the perfect replacement. OK, I take that back, no one can truly replace a Heisman winner, but the Sooners have one heck of an athlete gearing up to become the team’s No. 1 quarterback. His name? Kyler Murray. He was a top MLB draft pick but is staying with the Sooners for a season before going pro in baseball.

Murray will have the weight of the world on his shoulders as Riley is putting him to work, claiming the starting job is still up for grabs. He’s the most talented quarterback on the team, but he needs to prove he’s not taking anything for granted. If he does win the job, he’ll have CeeDee Lamb and Marquise Brown ready to pad his stats.

Rodney Anderson, however, is the sure-fire starting running back with All-Big 12 talent. He finished with over 1,100 yards and 13 touchdowns last season.

This isn’t quite the same team from a year ago that made the College Football Playoff with a 12-2 record, nearly beating Georgia in overtime, but it’ll be in the top 10 based on potential and talent riddled across the depth chart.

Can Riley go 2-for-2 in playoff berths to start his head coaching career?
