Sorry, Georgia, you get the unfortunate task of taking down Alabama for the SEC title in order to get back to the College Football Playoff.

Last season, the Bulldogs were able to knock off the mighty Tide for the conference championship, but as if that wasn’t enough, they were forced to match up with Alabama yet again in the national title game. They came just a few plays short, in overtime, but ultimately finished the season 13-2 as the national runner-ups.

Georgia will be in everyone’s top-five, maybe even top-three, to start the 2018 season thanks to the return of Jake Fromm, a strong defense and up-and-coming running back like D’Andre Swift.

Kirby Smart has learned plenty from Nick Saban, including the ability to recruit at the highest level. He’s bringing in some of the nation’s top classes and keeping pace with his former boss. This may be the most talented Georgia team in decades.

The Bulldogs have an extremely manageable schedule on their hands, so an unbeaten regular season isn’t out of the realm of possibility.
