The Georgia Bulldogs entered the 2017 college football season with Jacob Eason as their starting quarterback and true freshman Jake Fromm as the backup. Eason had played well as a freshman during the 2016 campaign, but his second season would end early, as he was injured in the season opener against Appalachian State.

That would turn out to be the end of Eason’s run as a starter in Georgia, as Fromm took over and never looked back. From Washington, Eason has decided to transfer away from the Bulldogs, taking his talents to Washington University, where he will have to sit out the 2018 season due to transfer rules.

In Fromm, the Bulldogs are in very capable hands, as he not only took over as the starter in game one but ended up leading Georgia to the national title game. While the Bulldogs lost to Alabama in the big game, Fromm cemented his legacy at the school and should be in for another very productive season in year two.

Fromm led the Bulldogs to their first SEC title since 2005, as Georgia earned a spot in the College Football Playoff. In the Rose Bowl, Georgia beat Baker Mayfield and Oklahoma in the national semifinal game, punching their ticket to the national title. Fromm threw for 210 yards against Oklahoma while tossing two touchdowns.

Georgia is losing both their top running backs in Nick Chubb and Sony Michel, so Fromm will be expected to really take over as the leader of the program as a sophomore. He showed no fear on the biggest stages last season, and one has to believe he will be even better this Fall.
