WWE Intercontinental Championship Match

Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. Seth Rollins

After main-eventing Extreme Rules with a solid 30-minute Iron Man Match that went into overtime, albeit only for a few seconds as Drew McIntyre’s presence once again became a factor, Seth Rollins and WWE Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler are ready to go at it again at SummerSlam. However, the odds are now even as Dean Ambrose returned after being sidelined for about eight months with a triceps injury. And how about that new look? Haircut looks a little strange after seeing him the other way for so long, but he certainly looks a little more bulked up, doesn’t he?

I really don’t think it’s going to surprise anyone if this is the match of the night. Rollins and Ziggler have been going at it for a couple of months now and I haven’t tired of it one bit. I thought it would shake things up a bit to give Finn Balor this shot, but as I said earlier, he’ll hopefully be back in this mix soon. Rollins and Ziggler have been tearing the house down wherever they go, and this shouldn’t be any different. Having Ambrose around to keep McIntyre at bay only adds to it, and I see a ref bump at some point so all four can brawl in the ring at some point.

Prediction: So the easy call would be Dean Ambrose turning on Seth Rollins, right? I mean, that was supposedly the plan before WrestleMania this year to set up a match, but the injury obviously put a stop to that. So I don’t think that happens at SummerSlam. It’s going to happen at some point to set that whole thing up, possibly with Roman in the mix there somewhere as well, but I see that coming down the road, more than likely leading into WrestleMania 35. There’s the possibility of a Shield thing to sell a few more T-shirts along the way and the inevitable tag match on Monday night with the four people involved here. As for the actual match, another Ziggler win wouldn’t surprise me as that leaves Ambrose and Rollins to do the tag team thing for a while to set up that later storyline. That then opens up Ziggler to a new challenger and perhaps a little singles run for McIntyre as well, which I’d really like to see. So we’ll go with that, even if a Rollins win is more likely.
