After the 2018 SummerSlam pay-per-view, when will the next WWE show take place?

Sunday night will see the 2018 WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view emanate from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. With Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns, Ronda Rousey, Alexa Bliss and AJ Styles all in action, it’s set to be an entertaining evening of sports entertainment.

However, SummerSlam is hardly the last WWE PPV to take place in 2018. In fact, one will follow four weeks later, Hell in a Cell, from the AT&T Center in San Antonio, on Sunday, Sept. 16. As always, superstars from Raw and SmackDown Live will compete.

Hell in a Cell is a PPV based on a classic WWE match, made famous by Mick Foley and The Undertaker in the 1990s. WWE turned it into a PPV in 2009 and aired this branded show 10 times, all of which transpired in October. With the schedule change and fewer PPVs since WrestleMania 34, it now belongs in September.

What matches will take place at Hell in a Cell? For now, it’s unknown, with no solution likely until SummerSlam ends.

A rematch of Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship remains possible, but only if Reigns wins on Sunday. It would be the fourth encounter between these superstars in 2018, but if they succeed at SummerSlam, WWE may use them, again, much to the delight or dismay of the fans.

A Ronda Rousey title defense is possible, too, if she defeats Alexa Bliss for the Raw Women’s Championship at SummerSlam. Rousey can draw a crowd herself, so look for her to appear on the match card.

Otherwise, WWE is sure to put on an intriguing PPV at Hell in a Cell, even without anything concrete for what will take place. Whether there’s a Universal title defense or the WWE Championship put on the line, it will be a show to look forward to.
