4. Green Bay Packers Cornerbacks

The 2017 Green Bay Packers’ cornerback group was one of the worst in the NFL. With Davon House, Kevin King, and Damarious Randall earning the majority of snaps until injuries struck, the unit never found a rhythm. House is limited physically, King was too raw, and Randall unfit to play corner.

The Packers wisely overhauled the position this off-season. Their first move was to bring former Packers Tramon Williams back, and he immediately had a pick-six on the first play against Pittsburgh this week. Then investing into new slot corner Jaire Alexander and boundary corner Josh Jackson gave the team a higher floor and ceiling for the position.

Alexander looked natural in the slot against the Steelers. He’s athletically gifted but struggled with discipline and physicality last year at Louisville. Both of those issues are mitigated to a degree inside.

Jackson also appeared ready to start. In 14 coverage snaps, he was targeted three times. He allowed zero receptions and was able to get his own pick-six as well.
