22. Tyrod Taylor, Cleveland Browns

Browns fans hoping and praying for Baker Mayfield to take over the offense this season need to be careful what they wish for. Tyrod Taylor is a quality player. He isn’t going to pilot Cleveland to a Super Bowl, but he is capable of helping them become a competent team in 2018.

The biggest improvement Taylor will provide the Browns is a significant decline in turning the football over. Some might criticize him for not taking enough chances down the field, but he doesn’t throw the ball to the opposition. His interception rate of just 1% last season will be a welcome addition to the Browns offense.

Taylor is also an above average runner. Look for him to be given a solid amount of opportunities on RPOs this season. He’s a good bet to chip in for at least 500 or so rushing yards every season. That isn’t going to earn him a Pro Bowl berth, but it is good enough to keep the chains moving for the Cleveland offense.

Taylor isn’t going to keep Mayfield on the bench for very long, but he could easily start every meaningful game for the Browns this season. His ceiling is to play at the level of an average, NFL starting quarterback. That would be a massive upgrade in Cleveland.
