20. Case Keenum, Denver Broncos

Keenum had a great season for the Vikings in 2017. Optimistic Broncos fans are looking for him to replicate his numbers this season. Unfortunately, it’s unlikely that Keenum is going to have another career year at the age of 30.

That doesn’t mean he’s going to fall off a cliff either. Keenum is one of the safest quarterbacks on this list. He doesn’t have great potential, but his floor is really high. It’s hard to envision him doing anything to hurt the Broncos’ chances of winning this season.

If Keenum is going to be anything more than an average player this season, he’ll need to continue to push the ball down the field more often. Last year he averaged 7.4 yards per completion which was the highest total of his career. It’s unclear whether or not he can accomplish that without the help of Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen.

Reasonable expectations for Keenum this season would be to see his performance experience a healthy regression. That doesn’t mean he’s going to have a bad season, but his success last year was largely a product of the talent surrounding him. He’ll have to do much heavier lifting this year in Denver. Expect that to weigh down his stats.
