Fantasy Football Off-Season Overview – Philadelphia Eagles

The champs are here! The champs are here! The Philadelphia Eagles are here!

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! Yeah?!

And yet, the Eagles are going to break from their winning formula, that put the Lombardi Trophy in their building, and bringing back Carson Wentz at quarterback.

Now, is this a big surprise? No. Was this what they SHOULD do? Yes.

But Nick Foles … He was the Super Bowl MVP! And it’s back to the bench with you, Foles!

Now, it’ll all depend on his health, but Wentz will be the guy. And in fantasy, assuming he’s ready week one, he should be just outside the top 10.

More from FanSided

Most of Philly’s offseason moves were to add to their already top 5 defense. Michael Bennett will be a solid addition, bringing double-digit sack potential to that defensive front. We could be looking at the top defense in 2018.

I Gotta Get Me One of Those!

There are only a few game changing tight ends in the league at any one time.

Zach Ertz is one.

Trey Burton has flown the coop, and will have a good season in Chicago. Meanwhile, rookie Dallas Goedert comes in and should be productive enough that he takes some of the heat off of Ertz in two tight end sets. That’s good news for Ertz owners.

Look to grab Ertz in the 5thish round; he can be a difference maker for you.

Buyer Beware

I already mentioned Jay Ajayi above, and while he did put up a very good-looking 5.8 YPC last year, he only scored once, and only averaged 10 carries per game. I think Corey Clement will take some workload from him, and honestly, I’ve never been an Ajayi believer, even in Miami. Too streaky for me.

Stay Woke

Out: Trey Burton

In: Dallas Goedert

I think the rookie comes right in and immediately gets the same production that earned Burton a big contract in Chicago. This offense loves tight ends, and Goedert will be a sneaky good pick.
