Dallas Wings star Liz Cambage could be having a change of heart about returning to the WNBA, citing her desire to bring a title to North Texas.

When Liz Cambage walked off the Wells Fargo Arena court after her Dallas Wings were blown out of the building in the first round of the WNBA Playoffs, many believed that this would be the last time we would see the center suit up for the women’s league.

Well, she may have had a change of heart, according to ESPN.

In the post-game interview, Cambage said that she had a strong desire to return to the WNBA next summer to bring a championship to Dallas. Well, that was the impression we got when she said these words, “I want to be here talking about a win next year. I want to be here. I want a ring.”

That was certainly a change in tone from a week ago when she openly balked at the WNBA’s pathetic salaries for its players and all but let it be known that she was going to stay Europe, where they actually pay their female athletes (and many WNBA players spend their time during the WNBA offseason).

Now, her mind may be less on heading overseas and more on trying to win a ring with the Wings next season. That, more or less, may very well be one of the reasons why we might see Cambage return in a Wings uniform next summer.

dark. Next. WNBA is evolving right before our eyes

“Heartbreak’s’ always made me hungrier,” Cambage told the press. “My first taste of the playoffs and it’s left a bitter taste in my mouth. I love this team. I’ve loved my time in Dallas. I’m heartbroken that it’s come to an end.”

That’s what losing will do to a player. It makes them even more determined to win it all the next time around. Now, if the WNBA can fix that horrific salary?
