Kansas City Chiefs – Len Dawson

The Kansas City Chiefs began their existence not as the Chiefs, and not even in Kansas City. In fact, this franchise, which was established back in 1959, began play in the 1960 season as the Dallas Texans, though it only lasted until 1962 when they moves to the state of Missouri.

The Chiefs played in the AFL until the merger in 1969, and since then, they have been a mainstay in the AFC West. In total, they have won three championships before the merger, while beating the Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl IV, the last of the AFL-NFL Championship Games.

The jersey to have goes back to their old AFL days, when they were still playing their football in Dallas as the Texans. The jerseys are just solid red with white letters, but there is something special about them, and if you can grab a mini helmet with the state of Texas on it, add that to your collection as well.

Kansas City went on a nice run in the 1990s, winning three division titles. However, they have never won the AFC in the history of the franchise, and while some of their teams had the talent to do so, they always seem to get tripped up as they get deeper into the playoffs.

The Chiefs have been the kings of the AFC West for some time now, but they made a change at quarterback this offseason, going with second-year signal-caller Patrick Mahomes II. Alex Smith was a steady hand under center, leading them to back-to-back AFC West titles, but he just could not get it done in the postseason.
