Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Lee Roy Selmon

Back in 1974, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers came into existence, and by the 1976 season, they made their debut in the NFL. Joining the Seattle Seahawks as an expansion team for that season, the Bucs have not had the kind of success the Seahawks have enjoyed, in fact, there have been some rough years in Tampa.

Since their inception, the Bucs have won only one conference championship, although they did capitalize on getting to the Super Bowl. In that big game, the Buccaneers absolutely throttled the Oakland Raiders, beating the Silver and Black by the score of 48-21 for their only Super Bowl win.

Overall, the Buccaneers have been to the playoffs only ten times in their team’s history, with the last coming over ten years ago (2007). However, when they were good, their defense was something special, producing iconic players like Warren Sapp, Derrick Brooks, and John Lynch to name a few.

When it comes to iconic throwback jerseys, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers creamsicle jerseys rival the powder blues of the Los Angeles Chargers. The Buccaneers often wear the creamsicle jerseys when they  throw it back during the regular season, and it is always a hit for their fans.

The Buccaneers were supposed to go to the playoffs last season, but really underachieved, and became the only team in the NFC South division to not go to the postseason. They open up 2018 with quarterback Jameis Winston suspended, and with the rest of the division reloading for the season, it is going to be hard for them to get out of the cellar.
