Fantasy- 32 Teams in 32 Days: The Los Angeles Rams
By Matt Mikolas
Fantasy Football Off-Season Overview – Los Angeles Rams
Why is it so much easier to remember that the Los Angeles Rams play in LA than it is to remember the Chargers also play there?
Maybe it’s because the Los Angeles Rams were there in the 80s.
I don’t know. But I still say San Diego Chargers. Like, all the time.
If anybody has forgotten that the Rams aren’t in St Louis anymore, trust me. They’ll be putting their stamp on the league this year.
“We’re the Rams, we play in Los Angeles, and we’re here!”
The Rams were probably the most active team in the off-season. And while they’ve paid seemingly every good football player, except, of course, their best player in Aaron Donald, they’ve catapulted themselves to the top of the NFC West projections, and NFC title contenders.
I Gotta Get Me One of Those!
If a team has a top five running back, he’s going to be in this category. Bar none. And the Rams do.
Todd Gurley finished STRONG last year, and if you had him, there’s a really really big chance that you won your fantasy league.

Congratulations.
I expect Gurley to have another strong year in 2018. I think he might regress just a liiiiiiiiiiiiittle bit … For instance, I have him as my 5th ranked running back coming into this season. (Johnson, Bell, Zeke, Kamara)
Regardless of exactly where you place Gurley in your personal rankings, he’s the guy to own.
Buyer Beware
There’s going to be a temptation to take Brandin Cooks, and expect the same kind of production he was getting in New England and New Orleans. I’m actually projecting him missing 1,000 yards for the first time since his rookie year.
There are a ton of targets on this team for Jared Goff. Between Gurley, Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods and others, the ball is going to get spread around. It helps Cooks that Sammy Watkins is in Kansas City now, but not enough.
Stay Woke
Backup running back John Kelly is still being regarded as someone who may beat out Malcolm Brown for the backup job behind Gurley. If you have a deep league, and want to take a last pick flier, Kelly is someone you should look at.
