Team 10: Cam Newton, QB, Panthers

This seemed a little early for Newton based on the fact that the Panthers offensive line is a mess. Newton’s value is held up a lot by his ability to contribute with his legs– especially near the goal line.

Team 9: Josh Gordon, WR, Browns

Measuring the risk-reward factor for Gordon is maddening for a fantasy owner. He isn’t someone I typically land in mock drafts, but the potential is there for him to win someone their league. Avoid him if you aren’t someone who is willing to work the waiver wire.

My Team: Marshawn Lynch, RB, Raiders

This might have been the least favorite pick I made for my team. Lynch’s value in PPR isn’t great and his age is a concern. However, he appeared to be working off the rust late last year which could be a positive sign for this season.

Team 7: Alshon Jeffery, WR, Eagles

Jeffery is someone I completely avoid. He has a history for allowing nagging injuries to keep him off the field. With T.Y. Hilton and JuJu Smith-Schuster rostered, Team 7 could afford to take a risk here.

Team 6: Brandin Cooks, WR, Rams

Cooks has three 1,000-yard seasons in just four years. He is someone who produces and should fit in with the Rams. However, Los Angeles has a ton of weapons and will struggle to make everyone happy.

Team 5: Mark Ingram, RB, Saints

If not for his four game suspension Mark Ingram would’ve been selected a few rounds earlier. He’s going to prove to be a tremendous value for some patient owner.

Team 4: Marvin Jones, WR, Lions

Jones isn’t as consistent as his teammate Golden Tate but has rounded into a strong fantasy option in his own right. Matthew Stafford is still around so there’s no reason to sour on Jones.

Team 3: Chris Hogan, WR, Patriots

Hogan is the No. 1 receiver on a Tom Brady led team– enough said.

Team 2: Drew Brees, QB, Saints

Brees saw his fantasy production dip a little with the Saints new commitment to running the ball. However, the emergence of the versatile Alvin Kamara has me optimistic he get back to his old numbers.

Team 1: Delanie Walker, TE, Titans

Walker has been Marcus Mariota’s favor target for a couple of years and it isn’t going to change this year. The lingering injury issues for Corey Davis point to Walker continuing to be featured in Tennessee.
