Giants at Jets live stream: TV schedule, time and more
For the 50th time, the New York Giants will take on the New York Jets, this one coming at MetLife Stadium. Who will win the Snoopy Bowl?
These two teams began playing in the preseason in 1969 and they hold the longest NFL preseason series streak. The Jets currently lead the series 25-23-1, despite dropping the previous two match-ups. Since becoming the MetLife Bowl in 2011, the Giants lead the series 4-3.
The Giants are coming off a 30-17 victory over the Detroit Lions and have improved to 1-1 this summer. In the victory, back-up quarterback Davis Webb took a step forward, completing 14-of-20 passes for 140 yards and one touchdown.
2018 second overall draft pick, Saquon Barkley, did not play in the exhibition game because of a hamstring injury. In addition, the Giants were without starting quarterback Eli Manning and Odell Beckham Jr.
Manning will likely be under center against the Jets. Meanwhile, Barkley’s and Beckham’s status is still unknown. Barkley returned to practice on Wednesday and claims to be feeling good. As for Beckham, he has yet to see any action in the preseason. Big Blue continue to be cautious with Beckham, who suffered a serious ankle injury last year.
The Giants are still trying to figure out who will be wide receiver number three and on the defensive side, who will play opposite of Landon Collins.
The Jets will look to bounce back after dropping their last game against the Washington Redskins, 15-13. Rookie quarterback, Sam Darnold made his first start and struggled at times. He completed 8-of-11 passes for 62 yards and one interception. Jets head coach, Todd Bowels expects his starters to play at least two quarters.
Three Jets players that could see the field for the first time this summer are, Marcus Maye, Terrelle Pryor and Quincy Enunwa. Wideouts Pryor and Enunwa will be game time decisions. Both are coming off injuries, but have been practicing with the team.
