There’s no Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race on Sunday as the teams get a well deserved break before heading to Darlington. But there’s plenty of exciting racing on tap anyway, as the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series playoffs get underway by taking on the road course at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.
Eight drivers will take aim for the championship beginning this afternoon, with Johnny Sauter the favorite after claiming the most regular season victories. However, a different playoff contender, Ben Rhodes, will lead the field to the green flag after turning in the fastest qualifying time. Noah Gragson, also in the hunt for the Truck Series title, will start alongside Rhodes in Row 1, while Sauter will start his day sixth.
The teams experienced some rain leading up to the race and even got to practice with rain tires and gear, but Weather Channel only expects a small chance for precipitation for the Chevrolet Silverado 250.
