Tom Brady is tired of talking about Alex Guerrero

In an interview with Boston’s Kirk & Callahan show, New England quarterback Tom Brady was asked about his trainer, Alex Guerrero coming with the team to Charlotte. Apparently, Brady wasn’t here for it and hung up on the two.

The Tom Brady-Alex Guerrero saga has loomed over the New England Patriots since last season. Rumors of a reported rift between Brady and Patriots head coach Bill Belichick due to Guerrero’s presence was a constant storyline and became a rare distraction for the team. Belichick would end up stripping Guerrero of his team privileges, which deepened the rift between him and his star quarterback. As of late, Guerrero is back traveling with the team, in which it was reported he flew with the Patriots to Charlotte in a preseason matchup with Carolina

But it appears Brady doesn’t even want to talk about Guerrero let alone his appearance with the team in Charlotte. On his weekly appearance with Boston’s Kirk & Callahan show, Brady cut the interview short when asked about Guerrero flying with the team. Brady grew agitated and stated twice he didn’t want to get into the topic, before abruptly ending the interview and hanging up.

Per ESPN, the interview lasted all six minutes and 30 seconds.

"Minihane: We saw the reports this weekend that Alex was on the team plane, which he wasn’t for the second half of last year, I guess, and not on the sideline. Is that accurate?Brady: Yeah, he was with me this last week, so it was; yeah.Minihane: What changed with him not being on the team plane last year and this year? Was that just communication back and forth? Was that understanding of other things? What led to that being able to happen this year?Brady: You know, I don’t want to; I’m not getting into all that.Minihane: OK, when I ran into him at the Super Bowl last year in Minneapolis, I remember talking about it at the time. When I talked to him there, he had said, in his opinion, all this stuff had been overblown, that he and [Bill] Belichick had a pretty good relationship, even then. Would you say that was true?Brady: I said I don’t want to get into it.Minihane: OK, go ahead, [co-host] Evan [Drellich].Brady: Yeah. Everyone knows, it’s well documented the work he and I do together.Minihane: No, I understand that. I’m just trying to figure out because I saw the reports this weekend that he was traveling with the team. Was he on the sideline Friday?Brady: Yeah, all right guys, have a great day. I’ll talk to you later [dial tone]."

It appears Brady wants to put the entire Gurrerro ordeal behind him, but should Brady have known that the media would be transparent about the issue? The Patriots, just like the San Antonio Spurs, are known to be a team-first organization with limited, if any, distractions. Both teams uncharacteristically dealt with a variety of distractions last season, and are looking to start anew this season. But, with Guerrero back, Brady should have the presence of mind to expect questions of that caliber. Because in the words of Drake, if they don’t have a story, they will make one.
