4. Cammon Cooper, QB, Washington State

With Mike Leach at the helm, it’s never been much of a secret what the Washington State Cougars are going to try and do on the offensive side of the football. Put simply, they’re going to throw, throw and when the air has been thrown out of the ball, they’re going to keep tossing the lifeless, deflated pigskin around the field.

That’s what quarterback Luke Falk did throughout his career in college at Washington State, so much so that scouts in the NFL legitimately wondered if he’d thrown the ball too much in college.

But as stated, Falk is now in the NFL as a member of the Tennessee Titans. And given how much he’s played over recent years with the Cougars, they don’t exactly have a ready-made replacement for him to step into the starting role.

As such, it’s going to be about who is the most talented player to put in the starting role to try and win games. That player could very well be freshman Cammon Cooper as he makes his way into Pullman.

Cooper is a 4-star recruit, the Cougars’ second-highest rated player of the 2018 recruiting class. He’s a pro-style passer with the size and physical tools that you want to see from a player that’s going to be throwing the ball an absolute ton.

While he’s inexperienced, so is every other option at Washington State right now. However, he has the most upside and talent, which could and should be enough to give him the starting nod.
