Week 1: Sept. 1 – Michigan vs. Notre Dame (South Bend, IN)

Week 1 isn’t a prediction as it’s already known that South Bend will be hosting College GameDay to kick off the beginning of the college football season. The big game between Notre Dame and Michigan was a staple of college football each year until it recently went away.

It’s back on the schedule in 2018, and this is a pivotal season for both programs. After a strong resurgence in 2017, Brian Kelly wants to keep his program on the up and in the College Football Playoff discussion.

He lost a lot of talent to the draft, but he returns Brandon Wimbush at the quarterback spot and a defense that should be improved. They’ll get a first big test at home against Jim Harbaugh and the players from Ann Arbor.

Harbaugh has had a lot of hype surrounding him thus far with the Wolverines, but hasn’t had the results he’s been seeking ultimately. With Shea Patterson at quarterback, Michigan is hopeful they can contend for a Big Ten Championship and more.

This is a big Week 1 game for both programs and a victory will put one on the right track to the season they want. A loss here will give a program a bit of a hitch to start the year. This was an excellent choice for the show.
