Rodney Dangerfield would probably agree that Jeremy Lin can’t get no respect.
Jeremy Lin can add something else to his list of accomplishments as an NBA player, although this achievement might be more embarrassing than praise worthy. He can now say that a Lyft driver confused him and his brother for high schoolers. Lin took some video of the incident that you can check out here.
He playfully asks if the driver likes his current team, the Atlanta Hawks.
Drafted by the Golden State Warriors, Lin famously played for the New York Knicks during those glorious weeks of “Linsanity”, and he also has suited up for the Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers, Charlotte Hornets and Brooklyn Nets.
He has unfortunately only played in 37 games over the last two seasons because of injuries. In other news about the point guard, he recently gave a shoutout to fellow southpaw Manu Ginobli after the future Hall of Famer retired this week.
Lin will probably never capture the moment that was “Linsanity” ever again, but he deserves credit for maximizing his talent and building a reputation as a player with solid character during his career.
We’ll see if he has any magic left in the tank for the Hawks, but his main role next season will be to mentor rookie point guard Trae Young. Young said recently to the Athletic that the pair would “work really well together” and that “I’m looking forward to picking his brain.”

It’s beautiful to see an athlete, who justifiably could have a huge ego about their worldwide fame, take this insult with a sense of humor. Next time though, maybe he should go with an Uber.
