Sylvester Stallone – Everton

Rambo. Rocky.

If there’s a discussion to be had about recognizable action stars, Sylvester Stallone is at the top of the list. He’s starred in some of the biggest films of all time, and he has the accolades to prove it. Stallone is both an Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe award winner. He is one of the few entertainers to earn the honor of having a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Stallone is also no stranger to the sports world. His work in the Rocky franchise landed him a spot in the International Boxing Hall of Fame. The character of Rocky Balboa is synonymous with the identity of the sport of boxing, as well as the entire city of Philadelphia. The city even erected a famous statue in his honor, something nearly unheard of for a fictional character.

As far as soccer is concerned, Stallone is a supporter of Premier League club Everton. Stallone’s fandom for Everton came about due to his friendship with the then-owner of the team, Robert Earl. Earl has since sold his shares of the club, but Stallone remains a fan. He’s attended games at Goddison Park, and spoken to the Everton fans at halftime. Goodison Park was even used as the centerpiece for the final fight in “Creed,” a spinoff film in the Rocky franchise.

Stallone’s affinity for the team nearly drove him to ownership, as he says he regrets not buying the team when he was in a position to do so.
