Rod Stewart – Celtic

Rod Stewart is one of the most decorated and accomplished musicians in the world. He’s sold millions of albums, performed all around the world, and has a massive following of fans and supporters. Stewart had a streak of six consecutive albums reach number one on the United Kingdom charts, as well as four number one singles on the United States’ Billboard Hot 100.

Stewart was born in England (London to be exact), but he has roots in Scotland. That’s also where his favorite soccer team happens to be from, that team being Celtic. Stewart is a massive fan of the perennial Scottish Premiership winners. He’s even extended his love for the club into his music, mentioning them in the song “You’re in My Heart.”

Stewart has attended several Celtic games over the years, including the Scottish League Cup final with his son in 2015. He was even able to have the honor of presenting his favorite team with the trophy after Celtic defeated Dundee United by a score of 2-0. He’s also been present to see the team win games against their hated rivals, Rangers. During one such affair, he’s even engaged in some banter with fans of the opposing team. Stewart riled up Rangers fans from his seat after a Celtic goal during a game last April.

In addition to Celtic, Stewart also supports Manchester United in the Premier League. He initially was drawn to United due to the number of Scottish players they had on their roster in the 70s. He ultimately settled on Celtic because he “clicked with them,” according to his 2012 autobiography.
