Russell Brand  – West Ham

One of the more recognizable and famous comedic actors around, Russell Brand has been in some of the biggest movies of the last several years. His big break came in 2008’s “Forgetting Sarah Marshall.” That film helped him endear himself to American audiences, and he’s been a mainstay in big budget comedies ever since. Brand is also an accomplished voice actor. He’s voiced characters in the “Despicable Me” series. He currently stars in the HBO series “Ballers,” where he plays a sports agent alongside Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

In the real world, Brand’s sport of choice is soccer, and his favorite team is West Ham. Having grown up in London, Brand is a lifelong, diehard fan of his local club. He attends the Hammers’ games on a regular basis, and constantly wears the club’s claret and blue colors with pride. Brand is also an avid supporter of the English national team, supporting them in international competition.

Before his career as an actor reached the heights of today, Brand wrote about soccer for The Guardian. Brand’s musings were collected in a 2007 book titled “Irons in the Fire.” In addition to his opinions on West Ham, Brand also offered his feelings on several of the sport’s biggest figures including Jose Mourinho, John Terry and David Beckham to name a few.

Brand famously showed his love for the club by interviewing – and subsequently planting a kiss on – then-manager Sam Allardyce following the club’s big win over Manchester City in 2015.
