Adele – Tottenham

Few singers on the planet are as popular and beloved as Adele. The English musician is one of the best selling artists in history. Her debut album, “19,” has sold over seven million copies in the United Kingdom and three million in the United States. She is a 15 time Grammy award winner, and holds the record for winning the most Grammy awards in one night with six. Adele is also the only artist to win Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year in the same show, and she’s done so on two separate occasions.

Adele was born in the Tottenham area of London, and that’s also where her soccer loyalty resides. Adele is a supporter of Tottenham Hotspur, a fact she revealed in an Instagram post in 2016. The image shows the singer posing under a THFC scarf backstage at one of her concerts. The love between fan and club is mutual, as Tottenham tweeted to congratulate Adele after her big night at the 2017 Grammy Awards.

Fellow fans of the club wanted Adele to perform at Spurs’ final game at White Hart Lane last season. There were many requests from fans of both the artist and the club for her to make an appearance at the last game against Manchester United in May of 2017. She ultimately didn’t show, but Adele is no stranger to Spurs’ interim home of Wembley Stadium. She performed there in June of 2017 for an audience of nearly 100,000 fans.

With the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium nearly complete, if Adele ever decides to return to the touring circuit, there’s at least one more brand new venue that will welcome with open arms.
