College football: Week 1 Top 25 schedule and predictions

College football is back and Week 1 is full of some intriguing Top 25 matchups. Fans can plan to overdose on the pageantry Thursday through Monday.

The long, national nightmare known as the college football offseason is finally over. Starting on Thursday night, fans can look forward to some Top 25 action to enjoy over Labor Day weekend. As usual, you can expect some real surprises right out of the gate.

There are actually four opening weekend matchups that pit two Top 25 teams against one another. The best game of the bunch will pit Auburn against Washington in Atlanta. It’s listed as a neutral site, but expect the Tigers to enjoy a healthy home field advantage.

There’s depth to this list of games though. Go ahead and start planning your weekend around which games you really want to watch. Taking in every meaningful contest is going to be a real challenge for fans with any sort of social or family lives.
