30. Kostas Sloukas, PG, Fenerbahce

Nationality/College: Greek

2017-18 stats: 9.6 points, 2.1 rebounds, 5.2 assists per game (Fenerbahce)

Career synopsis: Essentially Sloukas’s career has two parts. He spent the first half with Olympiacos, where he basically functioned as Vassilis Spanoulis’s understudy, and then he moved to Fenerbahce in 2015, where he has been the starting point guard since. He’s won three Euroleague titles in 2012, 2013, and 2017, and has basically been in the Final Four every season he’s been a pro.

Representative Highlight Play:

What’s his skill set?: Sloukas is a classic game manager point guard. He’s never going to take over a game, but he directs the offense for Fenerbahce, creating open spaces for their shooters and helping feed Jan Vesely endless lobs at the rim. He’s content to do a lot of his scoring off ball, capitalizing on the space he’s created for others to get himself open looks.

What makes him special?: Sloukas is like Mike Conley — he’s not quite a star, but he’s good to great at everything you want a point guard to do on a basketball floor. He’s entertaining because you know what spot he’s going to be in when the game is on the line, and while he’s rarely capitalizing on plays in the highlight reel, he’s often setting them up. On a team with as many weapons as Fenerbahce has, he’s the perfect floor general for them, and helps make them a sure title contender every year.
