7. Corey Clement will finish the year as the most productive  Eagles RB

The Eagles have a very crowded backfield situation. Most of the signs point to Jay Ajayi opening the season as the lead runner, but both Corey Clement and Darren Sproles will be worked into the rotation.

Sproles has a very specific role as a third-down back. His age will be a factor in how many snaps he receives. He is also someone the Eagles like to use on punt and kick returns.

The more special teams work for Sproles should create opportunities for Clement. We saw during the Super Bowl just what type of impact Clement can have when given a chance. The Eagles like him as a player and want him a part of the game plan.

Since entering the league, there has been plenty of concern surrounding Ajayi’s knee. It’s seen as something that will shorten his career and could be come a major problem at any moment.

Any injury to Ajayi would significantly boost the workload for Clement. He would ascend to the lead-back and likely dominate the carries. His versatility is something the Eagles would use to create mismatches.

Even with a healthy Ajayi, Clement figures to be a factor. The Eagles will play the hot hand which could very easily be Clement.
