4. John Brown catches more than six touchdown passes for the Ravens

It wasn’t that long ago that John Brown was seen as a star on the rise. He quickly established himself as a major deep threat and an important part of the Arizona Cardinals future. However, injuries ended his tenure with the Cardinals.

Brown is now with the Ravens and showing that the injury problems are behind him. He has looked really good in the preseason hauling in several long passes from Joe Flacco.

Over the years, Flacco has been at his best when he has a legitimate deep threat. He does a great job of using play action to freeze the defense and then deliver a beautiful ball over their heads. Brown and Flacco are a perfect match and are in line for big things this year.

It’s also important to factor in the improved running game of the Ravens. Alex Collins will force defenses to keep defenders in the box. His success also makes selling play action easier.

Brown isn’t the only new addition at wide receiver as the Ravens also brought in Michael Crabtree. The pair complement each other well with Crabtree serving as more of a physical and possession wide receiver.

During his first two years, Brown hauled in five and seven touchdown passes. All the pieces are in place for him to get up to those numbers again.
