Prediction

Both teams are excited entering the 2018 season. Two teams with College Football Playoff aspirations.

This game will come down to quarterback play. The Hurricanes returning starter Malik Rosier led the team to 10 straight wins a year ago. However, his melt down in Pittsburgh led to the team’s first loss. It got so bad that Coach Mark Richt made a change at the position despite the game being on the line. Four-star sophomore N’Kosi Perry and four-star freshman Jarren Williams are waiting in the wings should Rosier falter early.

For LSU they will start Ohio State transfer, Joe Burrow. A talented quarterback in his own right, his inexperience could cost him. With T.J. Barrett at the helm for the Buckeyes, Burrow only threw 32 passes in his collegiate career, all in blowout wins. Myles Brennan is a four-star quarterback himself waiting to take over if Burrows fails.

Two teams with star players all over the field and two teams with questions at quarterback. It will come down to experience and Miami’s Rosier has that. After playing in big games, albeit not well, he can lean on that experience to provide poise in a close contest.

When the final whistle blows a close contest will end with LSU losing a close one to the Hurricanes. Miami’s big-play defense and the conservative offense will be just enough to squeak out a win in Arlington on Sunday.
