Welcome to this edition of PGA DFS Golf Fanduel Targets from FantasyCPR.com. Here you will find players to target for this weekend’s action, geared for cash games and tournament plays on Fanduel.

In this article, I will present to you some players to consider from each price tier for your PGA DFS action. Some plays will be geared toward cash games, and some for GPP. Some of course will also technically qualify as both. As we break each play down, I will be sure to specify which type of contests I am targeting that player in. I will give two players to target from the $11K-$13K, two targets from the $9K-$11K range, and two from the $8-9K range. Also don’t forget about those Bonus GPP Flyers at the very end.

About the Event:

2018 will mark the 16th consecutive year that the Dell Technologies Championship will be held at TPC Boston. This only being the second year of sponsorship for Dell, you may remember this event as the Deutsche Bank Championship, who had held the previous sponsor since the inception of the event in 2003. TPC Boston is a course geared for the long hitters, and those with precision approach. The roughs are not incredibly tough, and the greens should be fast. This is generally a higher scoring event, and we have a lot of history to sort through, as it should play a big part this week.

Also of note, the Dell Technologies Championship has been a part of the FedEx Cup series since it began in 2007. We are on week two of the four week FedEx Cup, and the field is down to 100 players. That number has actually dropped to 98, after the withdrawals of Rickie Fowler and Francesco Molinari. Next week we will be down to a field of 70 at the BMW Championship, and will finish up the season the following week with the Tour Championship and the final 30 players.

Event History:

If we go back to 2010, there are a ton of names in this field that either won this event or at least tied for second. Last year’s champion Justin Thomas is the favorite in many eyes this week once again, but top players like Dustin Johnson and Brooks Koepka cannot be overlooked. Koepka’s best finish here is a T-18, and Johnson has finished fourth twice.

Two-time champ Rory McIlroy will compete this weekend, and looks like a solid GPP play again this week. He beat Paul Casey by two strokes in 2016, and shot a -20, 264 in 2012, holding off Louis Oosthuizen by one stroke. Another player sliding under the radar that could make for a sneaky GPP play is Henrik Stenson. Stenson looked fine at the Wyndham where he finished T-20, and he could contend this week, as he as played well here in the past. His form is not 100% by any means, but he won here in 2013, and finished alone in second place in 2015, with Rickie Fowler winning by one stroke.

Jordan Spieth was the runner-up last year, and he seems to be coming around a bit. Another name to keep an eye on is suddenly hot Billy Horschel, who also put up a T-2 here back in 2014. There are plenty of ways to go this week if you play multiple lineups, so let;s take a look at who I am targeting this week.

PGA DFS Golf Top Tier Targets: ($11,000 – $13,000)

Justin Thomas – $12,000 – (Cash)

With the best in the world in action this week, I am landing on Thomas as my top overall play here at the Dell Technologies Championship. He hits it long, and has the precision approach around the greens here to make it back-to-back victories here at TPC Boston. He comes in cheaper than Dustin Johnson and Brooks Koepka this week, despite two straight top-10’s, following his victory at the WGC Bridgestone earlier this month. He has now shot 12 straight rounds under par, and again, having won here last year, he seems like the safest pick at the top-tier. Lock him in your cash lineups with confidence this week.

Jason Day – $11,800 – (GPP)

Our second top target is a little off-the-cuff. Looking at this price point, we see guys like Justin Rose, Jordan Spieth, and Rory McIlroy, and we normally may look right over Day. I wouldn’t continue to sleep on Day on though if you happen to be like I was. He has quietly now posted five straight top-20’s, and his form is in the best shape it has been in all season.

Since he missed the cut at the US Open, Day has finished between 10th and 20th place in each of those last five tournaments. He has been good here at TPC Boston over the years, posting three top 10’s in ten tries. I expect another top-20 here at the very least, and I believe a top five is coming.

***Also Consider: Brooks Koepka $12,300 (GPP), Justin Rose $11,500 (Cash/GPP)***

PGA DFS Golf: Mid Tier Targets: ($9,000 – $11,000)

Adam Scott – $10,400 – (Cash)

Scott is high on my radar this week, and I am honestly looking at 100% ownership here across all sites. With his putting performance last weekend at the Northern Trust alone, Scott should be priced at least up to $11K.

Scott battled for a second consecutive impressive week, finishing -12 and T-5, after finishing 3rd at the PGA Championship two weeks prior. That makes for back-to-back top fives, and only Day and Thomas may be hotter. Scott won this event back in 2003, and has added five top-10’s since. Perfect recent form and some fantastic course history make Scott one of my top plays of the week.

Marc Leishman – $9,100 – (GPP)

Another player I feel may be priced a bit low this week is Leishman. I think a lot of the attention around this price point will shift to Tyrrell Hatton, who is getting a ton of hype this week, and Kevin Na, who is racking up top 20’s. Any time there is a shot to get Leishman at a good value he has to be considered.

He hasn’t been lighting it up by any means, but a solid final round 67 at the Northern Trust last week moved him into a decent T-34 finish. Leishman has made five straight cuts, with two top 15 finishes in that span. If he can finish in the top 20 here, he should easily pay off this price tag and be a solid value.

***Also Consider: Patrick Cantlay $10,000 (Cash/GPP), Tyrrell Hatton $9,000 (Cash/GPP)***

PGA DFS Golf Low Tier Targets: ($8,000 – $9,000)

Kevin Na – $8,900 – (Cash)

Another golfer on quite a decent streak rather quietly is Na. I think he will end up chalk in cash games this week, after digging in to the stats. Any time we get a player below $9K who has a realistic chance of outright winning the tournament you have to lock him in.

More from FanSided

Na hasn’t missed a cut since May,  won at The Greenbrier in early July, and has posted back-to-back top 20’s in his last two tournaments. He finished T-6 here at TPC Boston last year, cracking the top 10 for the first time in 10 tries. He is playing good golf, and a top 20 at this price tag would be perfect.

Billy Horschel – $8,700 – (GPP)

Golf is a weird game, and these guys are all professionals for a reason. I say this mostly because I never again thought I would target Horschel. Billy Ho has been playing a ton of golf lately, playing in eight events since the start of June. In that span, he has missed two cuts, and posted four top 20’s.

He was runner-up at the Barbasol Championship, and had an impressive week at the Northern Trust, where he finished T-3. More impressive to me, is eight straight rounds under par, and 11 out of 12 under par since his last missed cut, which was at the RBC Canadian. If Horschel stays hot here, he will be huge at this price. He is a solid GPP play.

***Bonus GPP Flyers – Chez Reavie $7,900, Aaron Wise $7,700***
