Why do you need another PGA DFS site? Because DRAFT combines the excitement of a season-long draft into one set of games! Get your DFS PGA Golf rankings with FantasyCPR

Welcome to this edition of PGA DFS Golf rankings for DRAFT.com from FantasyCPR, covering the 2018 Dell Technologies Championship. The DRAFT app can be downloaded to your mobile device through your app store, or you can access their desktop site here.

I play quite a bit on DRAFT, and have always been a big fan of the snake draft format. On DRAFT, for PGA, you simply roster five golfers. They offer head-to-head, 3-man, 6-man and 8-man drafts that start upon filling. In the DRAFT lobby, you will find me in the six-man and eight-man contests, which payout to the top two spots.

My goal here will be to give you my targets in tiers, based upon their DRAFT projections. Followed by that, will be my top 40 overall rankings. The strategy of course here, is that 40 golfers will be drafted for 8-man contests, and these rankings will have you covered. After having completed my rankings for this week, let’s quickly look at last weeks Northern Trust targets, and recap my picks before we move on to the targets.

PGA DFS Last Week:

Well I was on vacation last week, and was not able to play DFS, nor write my normal PGA articles. Therefore, there is nothing to recap. Instead, I will briefly go over my Wyndham Championship results from two weeks ago, even though in DFS terms it is really a distant memory.

It wasn’t a great week for me overall on DRAFT. I entered six drafts taking the best players available according to these rankings for the most part, I was only able to cash in one of the six tournaments, grabbing a second place with a solid team, led by Rafa Cabrera-Bello and Chris Kirk, who both finished T-11 and at -14. This week, I will likely do right around the same amount of drafts. We are back to having the deep fields with all of the best players of the world in action.

It was likely a good week for you if you focused on my top targets, and were able to draft some Brandt Snedeker and/or Webb Simpson. Overall, five of my six targets made the cut, and those five finished T-41 or better, which was a score of -9. Top tier target Snedeker was victorious at the Wyndham, and Simpson T-2 with CT Pan. So of course we had to go back and touch on that fact. Let’s see if we can find some magic here again this week, and pick another winner in the targets.

Before we get to the targets, one last thing I will add is that this article will no longer feature any info about the course or the event itself. I am currently writing a fanduel piece as well for this week, and any info you may need on past results of note and course history will be found here.

DFS PGA Golf High Projected Targets: (Players with DRAFT Projections of 70-80)

Justin Thomas – (78.8)

For the most part for me this PGA season, any time Dustin Johnson has been in the field, he has been the top pick for me. That will not be the case this week. As the season winds down and we reach the second of four FedEx Playoff tournaments, Thomas and a field of 98 golfers will descend upon TPC Boston for the Dell Technologies Championship.

JT is playing some of his best golf of the season at the moment. Since his win at the WGC Bridgestone at the beginning of August, he has notched two consecutive top-10’s. He finished T-6 at the PGA Championship, and followed that with a T-8 last week at the Northern Trust. He won this event last year, and is easily in as good a spot as any to be in contention all four days.

Brooks Koepka – (72.9)

Koepka kind of has the luxury of the “lower” projection this week, which would lead us to think he could slip a little bit. I have done four drafts thus far, and I have seen him go as high as the top overall pick, and as late as seven overall. After DJ and Thomas, I will go right to Koepka, as he is my third ranked golfer this week. He has tremendous upside as he is always a threat to win.

Koepka is also in top form with three straight top 10’s, including his victory at the PGA Championship. His track record at TPC Boston is not as great as some other players in the field, with his best finish coming last year, when he finished T-18. However, he is young, and has only played this event three times. I think Brooks stays hot this week, and we see another top five finish.

DFS PGA Golf Mid Projected Targets: (Players with DRAFT Projections of 60-70)

Rory McIlroy – (69.1)

His projection never seems to break 70, so much like Tommy Fleetwood and Joaquin Niemann, McIlroy is becoming a staple of this weekly article. Rory should be well rested, as he has not competed since the PGA Championship, where he finished a disappointing T-50. Prior to that however, McIlroy was in top form, with his impressive T-2 at the Open Championship, and a T-6 at the Bridgestone. A two-time champion here at TPC Boston, his experience and success here make him a top five pick easy in my opinion.

Adam Scott – (62.4)

Through my first three or four drafts yesterday, Scott was easily scoopable in the third round. So I opened up my app this morning to do a couple more while finishing up this article, and in my first one, someone took Scott fourth overall. I am sure that was sort of an anomaly, as Koepka and Rory were still on the board, but it is what is. It proves you never know how a draft will fall, and you have to be ready to adjust. Scott has been on fire, so he is rightfully a late first, early second round pick as you will see by my rankings. He has compiled back-to-back top fives, with seven straight rounds under par. He has also played well here at TPC Boston, with six top-10’s in 12 tries.

DFS PGA Golf Low Projected Targets: (Players with DRAFT Projections of 30-60)

Tiger Woods – (40.5)

I am going to put a little faith in Woods this week, as he should be able to bounce back from his putter problems he experienced last week at the Northern Trust. Tiger was in old Tiger form at the PGA Championship just three weeks ago, where he came up just short of the future memory we are all waiting for, when Tiger Woods wins another major championship. He finished a solo second, and if he made some putts last weekend, he would have been right there again. He is worth his ADP this week, as he is falling into the third round often.

Tyrrell Hatton – (53.6)

My last target this week is Hatton, whose projection has been allowing him to slip to late third, early fourth round territory. Hatton has been fantastic going back to mid-June, where he finished T-6 at the US Open. He has not missed a cut since, and has two top-20’s in those four events. Those top-20’s came the last two events, and both were highlighted by incredible final rounds. At the PGA Championship, Hatton fired a 64 on Sunday to rocket up the leaderboard into a T-10 finish, and last week at the Northern Trust, he shot another final round 64, this time vaulting him up to a T-20. That kind of Sunday scoring is what you want in this format, as your teams and heading towards the cash!
