Houston Rockets — Travis Scott

In 2015, the star of rapper Travis Scott began to soar after the release of his debut album, Rodeo. From there, Scott went from an intriguing musical mind with a knack for production to a bonafide star rapper with room to grow.

As much couldn’t be said about the Houston Rockets in 2015. Ending the 2015-16 season at 41-41, Houston had its star in James Harden but not enough around him to truly compete at the highest of levels.

The next season, however, the Rockets started to rise towards Scott’s level — winning 55 games, and followed that up by winning 65 games this past season.

Scott and the Rockets were a perfect match the whole time, however. Like Quavo and all the other Atlanta rappers, Scott was loyal to his city. Born in Houston, Scott was not for shopping around his basketball fandom. He was behind Houston the whole way.

Before Game 5 of last season’s Rockets-Warriors Western Conference finals, the Rockets brought in the survivors of the Sante Fe High School shooting. The massacre happened five days before this event and left 10 slain.

The Rockets also sported a patch on their jerseys to honor the victims.

Scott felt it was important for him to get involved as well, even if in just a small way. He took the microphone, calling all the present survivors “heroes.”

Scott is a busy man, but he makes time for his Rockets. Throughout this upcoming season, don’t be surprising to see him sporting red on the sidelines.
