Every NBA team’s most famous fan

Milwaukee Bucks — Aaron Rodgers
After growing up in California and attending college at the University of California, Berkeley, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has lived in Wisconsin for over 13 years.
In his time in Wisconsin, Rodgers’ Packers have been a lot more successful than the state’s NBA team — the Milwaukee Bucks — sporting a Super Bowl in the time.
Rodgers, perhaps hoping to have a stake in both teams, decided to become a part-owner of the Bucks earlier this year.
Rodgers stated he had wanted to get in on the ownership group for a year, growing an attachment to owners Marc Lasry and Wes Edens, as well as team president Peter Feigin.
“I’m just excited to kind of have that attachment to the state, which is going to hang on longer than my career,” Rodgers said.
We have already looked at musicians Usher and Justin Timberlake getting in on ownership of a team, but Rodgers is the only active NFL player to have a stake in a sports franchise.
As the value of NBA teams rises, Rodgers should see a nice return on this investment. And with a roster headlined by Giannis Antetokounmpo and an exciting new coach in Mike Budenholzer, Rodgers should get a nice fan experience from the sidelines, too.
For the Bucks fans and Wisconsin residents, it has to be great to see Rodgers want to plant his stake in the state — and even say he’s excited to have this attachment that will go long past his playing career.
Rodgers isn’t just Green Bay, and he isn’t just Milwaukee. He is Wisconsin.
