New Orleans Pelicans — Lil Wayne

So, let’s be transparent here: Lil Wayne is an admitted Los Angeles Lakers fan. The New Orleans native, however, does show up to Pelicans games when he’s in town and seems to have a rooting interest in them — even if they aren’t his favorite team.

Back in 2014, Wayne also tweeted this.

It is unfortunate that Wayne can’t seem to hold onto one team. The Lakers clearly seem to be leading the way, as he has said. Like many other celebrities, Wayne has become a bandwagon and not surprisingly attached himself to the Lakers. With LeBron James now there, the likelihood of him changing to solely rooting for the Pels seems low.

There are many homegrown celebrity fans on this list, however. The Atlanta Hawks are not at all a good basketball team. Almost the entirety of the city’s rap scene, however, are fans of the Hawks — repping personalized gear courtside many times a season. Wayne, of course, seems to show up wearing what he would wear any other day — not a single Pelican across his chest.

The sad thing is that the Pelicans are actually good! Anthony Davis might win the MVP this season! Jrue Holiday is one of the sport’s most well-rounded guards! What don’t you like, Tunechi?

We’re talking to a wall here, let’s be honest. Wayne will probably have a great next few years as a Lakers fan, while the pride of NOLA weeps.
