Orlando Magic — Tiger Woods

Longtime resident of the Orlando, Florida area, Tiger Woods is an Orlando Magic fan. Or, like many other Orlando residents, they were when Dwight Howard was there. Like, when they were pretty good. Or just good in general. Relevant. All that stuff.

When the Magic faced the Lakers in the 2009 NBA Finals, Woods was there. At the time, Woods had season tickets to the Magic. At the time, his fandom was split — he grew up a Lakers fan in California.

Woods gave his support to the Magic all season, however. And the season leading up to it, enticing him to buy those season tickets.

Not much has been said about Woods and the Magic since. After trading Howard in 2012, the Magic have not seen the playoffs once — and they probably haven’t seen Woods much either. Woods had to focus on reclaiming his past golf pedigree, and maybe the Magic can learn something from him.

They may have to get to that point before Woods returns, though. He was a season ticket holder a long time ago, but to bring him back in, the Magic are going to need to become a perennial playoff team. Like most people, Woods has better things to do otherwise.

The Magic are on their way up, though. With a frontcourt rotation of Aaron Gordon, Mohamed Bamba, and Jonathan Isaac, the Magic have a lot of talent to build off of.

Time will tell if they do well enough to reel Woods back in.
