Charlotte Hornets — Michael Jordan

As a player, the only colors that looked right on Michael Jordan were the black and red of the Chicago Bulls. But now, in his post-playing career, Jordan rocks the purple and teal.

After spending four years as a part owner, Jordan became the majority owner of the Bobcats in 2010. Jordan was the first former player to become the majority owner of an NBA team.

Now, in 2018, Jordan owns about 90 percent of the team, according to Forbes. This has helped his net worth rise to over $1.6 billion.

So, basically, Jordan has no other chance but root for the Hornets. He has a lot of money tied up in them being a successful basketball team.

Since becoming the majority owner, Charlotte has made the postseason just twice — both times being a first round exit. Unlike most of the celebrity fans we will look at, Jordan actually has some ability to improve the team — and thus, the fan experience.

Charlotte made some moves in the offseason after two straight years in the lottery. They replaced general Rich Cho with former Lakers executive Mitch Kupchak, and replaced head coach Steve Clifford with former Spurs assistant James Borrego.

With star guard Kemba Walker approaching free agency next summer, Charlotte may need to make the playoffs to convince him to stay. Jordan surely hopes that is the case, otherwise he will be rooting for — and running — a lottery-bound organization for years to come.
