Detroit Pistons — Eminem

Rapper Eminem is about as Detroit as it gets. Born in raised in the city, Eminem truly embodies everything Detroit is about.

That includes the Detroit Pistons.

To open up last season, Eminem proved that. After almost 30 years in Auburn Hills, the Pistons opened up Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. Eminem welcomed the team back to the city, attending the home opener and speaking to the crowd.

Eminem received an incredible reaction, welcoming the Pistons back to the city of Detroit.

Kid Rock, a fellow Detroit musician that roots for the Pistons, didn’t receive such a great reaction (via CNN).

"Both were shown on the video screen at the game. Fans cheered as Eminem asked the crowd to “make some noise” for the team’s first game in its new arena as his song “Lose Yourself” played. When Kid Rock was shown on the screen, however, he was booed, according to the Detroit Free Press."

The reception was mostly political. At the time, Eminem had recently criticized President Donald Trump in a freestyle rap. Kid Rock has publicly supported Trump.

Either way, a Pistons fan is a Pistons fan. Eminem and Kid Rock are probably the two biggest celebrity fans Detroit has to offer. The Pistons fans sided with Eminem, so we will go ahead and do the same here.
