1. Ed Orgeron – LSU

The biggest name on this hot seat list right now is Ed Orgeron. Everyone knew it was a risky hire, when LSU decided to make him the full-time head coach. Considering the expectations the program has, Orgeron had to step up right away.

His first season with the program was one of the more strange ones in memory. They would lose to Troy in one of the worst losses in program history and then bounce back to nearly win 10 games in a season.

A roller coaster of emotions certainly swept through Baton Rouge. However, Orgeron can’t afford slip up games like that again and by virtue of where he’s coaching, his leash isn’t as long as some coaches have in other places.

He has to have the Tigers firing on all cylinders and at least putting themselves near the discussion of top teams in the SEC West. If he can’t do that, the program will go and look for a top-flight coach to right the ship.

The Tigers can’t stumble in 2018, period. Things don’t get easy for them either in Week 1. They’ll face the No. 8 Miami Hurricanes in Arlington to begin the season. It’s a chance for the Tigers to pick up a huge win or fall under the national spotlight.
