Alabama vs. Louisville live stream: How to watch online
The top-ranked Crimson Tide will kick off their title defense in 2018 with a neutral site showdown against the Louisville Cardinals. We tell you what to expect and where to watch on Saturday night.
Last time we saw Alabama, they were hoisting the national title trophy after outlasting Georgia in overtime College Football Playoff Championship game almost nine months ago. For the third straight year, they enter the season ranked No. 1 in the nation according to the AP poll.
Nick Saban’s team will kick off their title defense against Bobby Petrino’s Louisville team in Orlando on Saturday. The Tide are in a familiar situation in many ways but for the firs time in the Nick Saban era, which began in 2007, there is a lingering debate around who will start at quarterback — Jalen Hurts, who has started the last two seasons and compiled a record of 26-2 and Tua Tagovailoa, who came on in relief of Hurts in the championship game to throw three second half touchdowns including the game-winning score in overtime.
Nick Saban has yet to name a starter and both quarterbacks are expected to see significant playing time in the season opener.
Louisville finished 8-5 in 2017 and will have a first-year starter at quarterback in redshirt sophomore Jawon Pass, who takes over for 2016 Heisman Trophy winner, Lamar Jackson, who was drafted by the Ravens in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Pass, who was recruited by Alabama but chose to commit to Louisville instead, is similar to Jackson in many ways as a dual-threat quarterback who is as dangerous as a runner as a passer.
