The Ohio State Buckeyes will kick off their 2018 campaign at home against the Oregon State Beavers on Saturday.
College football is back and it’s time for the greatest spectacle in sports to unfold in 2018. On Saturday, Week 1 of the college football season kicks off and every program across the country will look to chase their best season yet. For the Ohio State Buckeyes, it’s the start of a controversial season.
The Buckeyes will begin play on Saturday at home against the Oregon State Beavers. They will be without head coach Urban Meyer after a three-game suspension was handed down for failing to properly handle the situation involving former Buckeyes wide receivers coach Zach Smith’s domestic abuse allegations.
Date: Saturday, Sep. 1, 2018

Location: Columbus, OH

Not only will they not have Urban Meyer, they will also have a new quarterback taking over. After seeing limited time behind J.T. Barrett last season, Dwayne Haskins has answered the call and will look to carry the Buckeyes back to the College Football Playoff.
Ohio State will get their first taste of action this season against the Oregon State Beavers. The Pac-12 opponent has been struggling to push themselves back into relevancy and is hopeful they can take a step forward as a program this season.
The Buckeyes are hoping they can progress as a team and see their newer players take big strides along with their established performers in the opener. In September alone, the Buckeyes have two huge tall tasks on their schedule. They will face TCU in a neutral site game and at the end of the month, face Penn State in a big conference showdown. The campaign to January begins now for the Buckeyes.
