A UCF fan tried to fly a banner over Camping World Stadium letting Alabama know who the “real” national champions were. It failed.

Alabama is starting the regular season defense of their national championship in the home of another national champion — Orlando, which is home to UCF. The Knights went undefeated last season and earned a national championship via the Colley Matrix.

UCF fans have taunted Alabama fans all offseason as if their claimed national championship takes away from the legitimate one the Crimson Tide earned on the field when they beat Georgia in the National Championship Game in the College Football Playoff.

A UCF fan had a surprise for Bama fans as they tailgated outside of Camping World Stadium. Thanks to a video from Spec Sports 360, we now have visual proof of UCF fans who have yet to give up the title of National Champs.

The plane that flew over the tailgating Bama fans spelled out who were the “real” national champions, and that the “fake” champs were not too welcomed in their home city.

Apparently, Bama fans were not impressed with the stunt.

Yes, they took pictures and marveled at the fact that Knights fans (still) can’t get over the fact that they’re not the national champions.

It’s time for UCF fans to let it go.

Like it or not, Alabama is the reigning national champions, and UCF fans in Orlando an elsewhere are just going to have to live with this fact. UCF is an up-and-coming program, but they don’t want Bama.

The system that is in place now, though, gives great advantages to powerhouse schools, and until UCF reaches that pinnacle, they will unfairly be shut out from even having the chance to play for it all.

It stinks, it really does, but carrying this charade of being the “real national champs” is not going to help them out. It will only make them look petty.
