No. 7 Chase Edmonds, RB, Arizona Cardinals

David Johnson looks fully recovered and ready to get back to his dominating self. However, injury can strike at any time which is why Chase Edmonds is someone to remember. If Johnson should suffer another long-term injury Edmonds is the next man up.

Nobody is hoping for someone to get injured, but fantasy football is a risk-reward game where jumping early on someone like Edmonds could win you a championship.

Edmonds isn’t just someone who is sitting in a good position. He has shown a well rounded game throughout the preseason. It’s likely he will get some work even if Johnson avoids the injury bug this year.

The Cardinals know how important Johnson is to their offense so they won’t hesitate to give him some rest. However, Edmonds won’t get enough work to be fantasy relevant unless Johnson goes down with an injury.

If you have Johnson on your team it wouldn’t be a bad idea to add Edmonds as a handcuff. At the very least, keep him in the back of your mind.

Arizona’s offense should be in better shape than much of last year. They have two competent quarterbacks on the roster in Sam Bradford and Josh Rosen. Both will at least force the defense to respect the passing game.
