No. 4 John Kelly, RB, Los Angeles Rams

The Rams have gotten a good look at John Kelly this preseason. Todd Gurley didn’t see any action this preseason in an attempt to avoid injury. However, Los Angeles got another benefit in they found themselves a strong No. 2 option at running back.

Kelly sits so high on this list because of how big of a role he could have should Gurley get banged up. The Rams don’t have much else as far as running back depth and Kelly has by far looked the best of the backups.

Gurley isn’t someone you would categorize as injury prone, but he did have some issues in college and early in his career.

The Rams have a high powered offensive attack that would provide any running back with opportunities. Obviously, Gurley is a special talent and it would be difficult for Kelly to match his production. The key to his value would be the workload.

It would also involve the fact that the Rams love to get the running back involved in the passing attack. Kelly has shown to be a sound receiver out of the backfield during the preseason.

My advice would be to jump on Kelly if you even hear a whisper that Gurley is banged up. If you wait until a major injury then it could be too late to cash in.
