Fantasy Football drafts are in full swing. Who are the NFL’s brightest fantasy stars at the tight end position? We discuss.

Tight ends are a premier position in the National Football League. Because of the mismatches that can be created at this position, it has become a priority to have an effective pass catcher at tight end. For fantasy owners, the value in a great tight end is invaluable. In many cases, these players are used as the quarterback’s safety blanket, which will tally up high reception totals.

Additionally, tight ends are used for red zone scoring because of their large frames. This will add up touchdown points in your fantasy league. These are the top 10 fantasy football tight ends for 2018:

10. Jack Doyle, Indianapolis Colts

Jack Doyle is one of the most overlooked fantasy options of 2018. Andrew Luck is back and that is good news for him and the offense. A bright spot for the struggling Colts in 2017, Doyle tallied up 80 receptions and four touchdowns. The team utilized his size and lined him up as a slot receiver which bolstered his fantasy point total. Doyle provides a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses. Standing 6-foot-6, he is an enormous target.

While Doyle is not necessarily an elite athlete, he makes up for it with his aggressiveness and strength. When the quarterback throws to him, there is a very slim chance of him dropping the football.

It seems unlikely that he has another year with 80 receptions, but the offense in its entirety is improved. This means that the Colts will look for Doyle to score more touchdowns. With Luck back in the fold, expect Doyle to have another impressive season.

9. Jordan Reed, Washington Redskins

Jordan Reed is a very good tight end. However, injuries have plagued his career. In fact, Reed has never played an entire season of NFL football. However, one can easily see his unbelievable talent. In 2015, Reed appeared in 14 games and tallied a whopping 87 receptions, 952 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns.

For fans of the Washington Redskins, Reed’s nagging injuries have left dismay and uncertainty. Entering his sixth season, there is cautious optimism that Reed may be healthy for the first time in awhile. If this is the case, he provides an incredible spark for this offense. Alex Smith showcased his love of athletic tight ends in Kansas City when he used Travis Kelce as his safety blanket.

While Reed’s health remains a concern, he will thrive in Jay Gruden’s West Coast Offense. Because of his athleticism and physicality , he is able to score points quickly. If Reed stays healthy, he is a an excellent fantasy option for 2018.
